I live in L.A. but my mom was from Bethlehem PA. I have been a Steeler fan all my life.
I remember getting ready to go to church on 12/23/1972 and telling my wife “Can we just wait a few minuites, I just know the Steelers will pull it out”.
My son is a Marine stationed at the MCRD in San Diego. Last week he invited me to a friends house to watch the San Diego/Steeler game. It was me against about 15 Charger fans. I loved it.
That is a cool memory you have of the Immaculate Reception...I was ten, the game was blacked out (in Pittsburgh) and my dad (he’s gone now) whooped it up...he was listening on the radio to Myron on wtae radio. They kept showing the catch over and over later that night on tv.
