Does anyone else think Clark’s hit on McGahee should have been flagged as a personal foul? Helmet to helmet? Seems pretty simple to me.
Doesn’t that only apply when you hit the QB?
Yes.
Not when tackling a ball carrier.
If you want to talk flags that should've been thrown, how about the double hit on Ben. Not only well after he released the ball, but a hit in the middle of the back to boot. Or they could've called holding on the Ravens, Harrison (92) was being held on almost every play. The only time they called it was when he was literally tackled and thrown to the ground.
After watching the game, I know why the ref is retiring, his eyesight and judgment are going. Yes, I'm a Steelers fan, born and raised in the 'burgh. Yes it was a rough physical game. It was cold, that always ups the chance for injury. Yes the Steelers play physical. Not dirty like some teams (ahem...Raiders), but definitely not touch football either. They don't try to hurt anyone, but if you get hurt, hey, it happens.
No. The initial hit was with the shoulder. The helmet contact occurred when McGahee lowered his head. The only helmet hit I saw was when Big Ben got speared in the back after a throw by #43 (don't know his name).
