This election has put my boys over the edge. They have played sports all of their lives, been on racially mixed teams, etc. Ever since the Obama became the nominee it has become unbearable for them. The lunch room is completely split down the middle, the students write on their faces with Sharpies that say Obama, they have Obama clothes for everyday of the week. And according to the kids they are in your face about it.

Tuesday, my oldest and his friend decided that the day was going to be horrible, so they made t-shirts that had the Obama face but instead of HOPE theirs said NOPE. Tensions are running extremely high even at the HS level. Racial unity, my eye!

Your son, his friend, and all the other NON-kool-aid drinkers are certainly brave for going against the tide now — I applaud them and hope they take many steps to ensure their safety.
