AMERICA-The Right Way: Staying Vigilant!(Jan.31 , Feb 1 2009)(Weekend Edition)

Remember the WTC, Pentagon and Flight 93!

Since it's Super Bowl weekend, I thought I would mention that a man from N.J. eats 203 chicken wings in 20 minutes and has won the Philadelphia Wing Bowl.

I didn’t hear Glen Beck’s remark but don’t you think that if the Republicans (as opposed to Conservatives) had stood shoulder to shoulder behind President Bush, his ratings would have been different? Instead, many of them publicly denounced his efforts. Maybe that’s where Beck was coming from? If not, his remark raises my hackles, too.

You know what raises my hackles? O and his ragtag bunch telling us over and over it’s time for us to drop our opinions and join them for the greater good. Oh yeah, like they did for President Bush! Ptui!

I did my chili yesterday and boiled some beans with lots of cumin and chili powder, they are resting at this time, absorbing and mixing their flavors for tomorrow. Tomorrow I’ll do a small rice for those so inclined. A friend is doing the dips...sometimes I just don’t like making dips, cause it interferes with my semi atkins. I’ll also make a margarita cheese cake for tomorrow...yep, a real one.

Roomey had cnn on and I heard someone “NOT” in favor of the mess-I-aih’s stimulus plan. Said it did nothing for the economy.

I read the whole article, also. I just shook my head at the naivete of this woman. I was amazed to read of the anti-capitalist links she found around the country. But more amazed they were located in slum areas.

Maybe some of the Republicans are growing a spine, but we must still contend with the likes of mcpain and graham, members of the gang of 14. We heard mcpain tell nobama he would help him along the way. We need to rid the Republican leadership of these kind of characters.

That link to 'In the Ruins of New Orleans' is one disturbing article. Not so much that a young idealistic Lefty college student was murdered riding her bike alone at night in NO, but because she represents the flip-side of the criminal element there.

What I found most disturbing is that she sought out and associated with people who had no regard for personal property. She was very impressed, in every city she visited, with people who 'took over' abandoned factories (Boston) and people who grew 'Guerilla Gardens' (both coasts) on land they didn't own, and people who found 'alternatives' to the capitalist system.

Supposedly, personal liberty, the rule of law and private property are the foundations of a free society; this girl came from out of Left field believing in none of these (unless you count self-righteous appropriation of others' property as 'personal liberty').

There is a subculture out there that despises us for being normal. I find that very disturbing...;-))

This should be a fun game.

I like both quarterbacks for both teams.

Pinging you the video of Glenn Beck.

I do like listening to him, but just not sure where he's coming from here.

A sad story in New Orleans.

I don't like you having such a heavy heart re: your decision to curtail your volunteer work.

My aunt, who is quite social person, has recently told me that her circle of friends is getting smaller.

If these co-volunteers were vocal about their dislike for President Bush and have flaunted the way they voted, knowing your opinions, I say, goodbye.

Very soon! The equipment trucks left yesterday for our new spring training facility in AZ!

C'mon down to spring training, Molly! Big warm Arizona hugs are always waiting for you here!! Hubby and I just got tickets the other day for an Indians fan relative who is coming down in March. Cubs are down here, Padres, Mariners, Giants, etc.

We have our share of Obamabots down here too, but it is easier to deal with when the sun is shining and you don't have snow and ice to deal with!

ANYWAY, hubby and I are looking forward to the Super Bowl tomorrow - still CAN NOT believe the Arizona Cardinals are in it!!

And how's this for a diversion...today is my birthday and I am waiting to hear from one of my brothers who is about to become a Grandpa for the first time! Which also means I am about to become a Great Aunt! Niece has been at the hospital since last night, so it looks like I will be sharing my birthday!

: ) ........thanks!

I didn’t click on the NO link earlier because I was in too good a mood to read it. Your summary made me curious but the Times never loaded...just kept saying it was loading. But a 25 year old college graduate female not knowing it’s dangerous to ride a bike alone at 1:30 a.m.? Something’s wrong with that picture.

Oh yeah, now I see what you mean. My defenses went up as soon as he kept shouting over her and using emotion and movement.......R’s finding their principles in the desk drawer? Come onnnn!

I think he was bent on out-Coultering her but she kept smiling and speaking on topic. I was trying so hard to hear what SHE was saying while he kept up the distraction that I never heard what HE said..........I even missed his point that you’re making. Maybe I’ll listen again later. Or not. :)

Oh yum. That sounds delicious.

Rarely do we have the money for tuna steaks, but we splurged. Greg grilled them. I wanted swordfish. Either the meat clerk made a mistake or I mispoke. No matter. We enjoyed them.
