MoDOT says stimulus will move up many highway projects (within minutes of bill signing!)

OZARK, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to quickly award contracts for major construction projects after President Barack Obama signed a $787 billion stimulus package on Tuesday. Journagan Construction and its employees will be one of the companies that benefits from the work being moved up from 2010 or 2011 to now.

In Tuscumbia, between Lake of the Ozarks and Jefferson City, construction crews began replacing a rural bridge just minutes after Obama signed the law. The bridge project likely is the first in the nation to get started under the stimulus plan. It was scheduled to be replaced next year but MoDOT moved up the timetable for it and others after the agency learned it likely would get federal stimulus money this year.

Missouri transportation officials met at the bridge on Tuesday and quickly approved its replacement as a way of showing that infrastructure expenditures can have an immediate economic effect. Gov. Jay Nixon also attended and spoke at the ceremony.

Keep in mind the reporter and television station which posted this.

They are nothing more than an outlet for Democrats and the reporter recently noted that Claire McCaskill was someone independent and a budget hawk.

The only thing KY3, an NBC affiliate, has not done is replace their motto to “DNC TV.”

The whole point in this piece was to make the area GOP look bad and CYA for McCaskill who voted for the bill. Remember, SW Missouri is the traditionally conservative part of the state.

If this man and the station can influence people that the bill signed by Obama was justified, then it allows Democrats to stay in the game, especially for the 2010 senate seat. If we stick to our guns that the whole thing was a crap sandwich, then it proves how much of a hack McCaskill is.

McCaskill is fingernails on the blackboard for me. She parrots every asinine Donk party line and, you're right, KY3 runs it like it was verified fact.

Oops! Most would have been white if based on the county black population percentage.

Actually, I-70 has had several improvements during the last several years, particularly in the area around Wentzville. And I-44 has been greatly improved. There were some stretches between Rolla and Lebanon that were downright scary.

Don’t need witnesses...it’s true.

My buddy owns the land around the bridge that is being replaced...and let’s just say that the plans were ‘in the works’ before the ink was dry.

Just saying.
