Obama's budget and the legislation to support his "Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan" are diversions.

The big issue this week is the Fiscal Year 2009 Omnibus Spending bill. The Dems in Congress and in the Senate will try to ram this through as an "emergency" without even letting anyone read it.

The "continuing resolution" that was passed last year only funds the federal government through March 6, 2009. They have to pass an "Omnibus Spending Bill" before that (or pass all of the appropriations bills that they failed to complete last year).

Since nobody will be allowed to read this, expect them to try to include the "Fairness Doctrine," and possibly "card check" and some of their other lefty priorities in this "emergency measure" and get them passed with no debate.

If Republicans were smart, they would submit an "Omnibus Spending Bill" that continues everything at FY 2008 levels for the entire FY 2009, and say they want to "move forward" to Obama's FY 2010 budget.

Under no circumstances should the Republicans vote on the "Omnibus Spending Bill" without reading it first. And they should insist that it is published on the web at least 48 to 72 hours before any vote.

Good evening to you. Well, immediately after I posted to you yesterday (afternoon my time), I got extremely busy in the kitchen with my typical Sunday afternoon 'preparations for the upcoming week' and didn't get back down to check the thread until this morning when I got up.

There was no new work waiting for me, so I worked on the existing stuff. I have way more work than I know what to do with right now. I have one guy that helps me out when I get overloaded and he has been busy, but he thought he could help out starting this week.

In singles class at church a newcomer lady introdiced herself and announced "...and I'm a Republican!" Obviously, I talked to her after class.

What's fer dinner?

Gads, the newly elected president doesn’t even know we’ve won the war in Iraq and what we’re doing now is helping the citizens and government get back on their feet after 30 some years of living in tyrany. What a dufus.
