I wasn’t a racist until one year I tried to teach music in Tuskeegee AL. That made a racist of me and I just don’t care any more.
If someone is going to act like the stereotype well, gosh, darn, there may be a reason for the stereotypes. From now on, if anyone wants to be around me, they can conform to my standards. I won’t come down to their stan ... do they even have standards?

However, after the Reverend Wright episode and the efforts to tell me that all black churches are like that, and that black people who are nice to us really don’t like us and talk about us amongst themselves, I am a bit more suspicious.
And they have called us racists for such trivial things for so long, I frankly don’t care any more. It has no effect on me.

That’s a good question Jem. In our little town, it’s difficult to form a nice opinion of some when then shop in our stores with their pants half way down their butts and their underwear showing. It’s a wonder their parents allow them out of the house.
