Speaking of Orion, if you look at his left foot (as you are looking at him it is the foot on the right side), you see an interesting star named Rigel. It is a blue supergiant. At a 'mere' 775 light years away, it is about twice as hot as our Sun and dwarfs the Sun with a luminosity of 40,000 solar (40,000 times as luminous as the Sun). Just one neighboring star in our vicinity of the Milky Way galaxy.
