No, no, no...of course they couldn't fill her vacancy...why Mrs. Obama is irreplaceable...that the University of Chicago Medical Center was lucky enough to have her in their employ however briefly is to be celebrated and to be the watermark against which all future hires, in all departments, shall aspire to./Sarc.

The U. of Chicago just doesn’t have anyone they need to patronize with a no-show job right now.
I’m sure the position will be filled when they find another sufficiently well placed politician or other benefactor to impress with their largesse.
