No, it’s been there for as long as I remember. When I was a kid we used to go to the Montgomery Wards there.
But you know, the whole Chicago area is really segmented. No one drives more then 20-25 minutes in any direction. Even less if you live in the city.
You wouldn’t know there is a recession with all the new stores popping up around here. Up north in Hoffman Estates they put up brand new Cabella’s, and LL Bean (plus another one at Old Orchard), a Sur La Tab, and all sorts of stores. Then they built a nice new mall in Bolingbrook with a Bass Pro Shop and Ikea across the street.
Ikea? I’ve heard that’s the place to go...there’s one in Cincinnati that everyone around here treks to...I guess I should go one day to see what all the fuss is about!
Ooh! Hoffman Estates is near Hackney’s...one of the places on my “must eat” list every time I return ‘home’ to Chicagoland :-)
