When I was a kid, my Mom kept her limburger cheese in a jar with the lid tightly closed. She put the jar outside on a windowsill. My Dad could not abide the smell of it.

I love the way it smells! I have no idea why — and I’ve never even tasted it. The smell of limburger cheese must be one of those good-association childhood smells to me, that’s all I can figure.
