The Scottish woman who became an Internet singing sensation after her performance on a British talent show said Friday she doesn't want fame to change her. Susan Boyle, 47, has said she's still the same humble girl next door despite her knockout singing on "Britain's Got Talent." She shocked and inspired the audience, judges, and Web watchers with her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Misérables" in the first round of the show. "I wouldn't want to change myself too much because that would really make things a bit false," she told CNN's "American Morning" on Friday. "I want to receive people as the real me, a real person."

I suggest to her to stop and just go home They will bring you up and just tear you down
Paul Potts? I wonder why his name never caught on?
“Paul Potts? I wonder why his name never caught on?”
You must be thinking about his cousin Pol
He got in trouble for calling Ma Kettle black.
Paul Potts is now a millionaire and I would hope the same for Boyle.
She deserves accolades and more for her care for her mum and her charming personality.
He has a beautiful voice. I hope he made it in Opera.
Is he singing opera somewhere? Did he record?
He recorded. Has a new record coming out.
Google him and read about it and also find him on YouTube.
Amazing talent. Similar story to this woman.
Very unattractive appearance. Bad teeth...etc.
God given voice.
I was just reading about her on Wikipedia. She's the youngest of nine children, and she took care of her mother, until a couple of years ago, when her mother died, at the age of 91. She'd has some professional voice training years before, but hen she auditioned for the Regional Finals, it was the first time she'd sung publicly since her mother's death. Before she died, her mother had encouraged Susan to take the risk of singing in front of more people than just at her parish church.
I gotta admit, I was blubbering like a fool watching the video of her performance on BGT, especially after the way she was received by the judges and the crowd when she first walked out onto the stage. About three bars into her performance, the camera turned on Simon, and you saw his jaw drop in disbelief and amazement. It was great.
The audience was doubly annoying: they both laughed and smirked at her before she started singing, and then wouldn’t SHUT UP during her performance so you could actually hear the whole song.
There sure waa a lump in my throat when she began to sing. Then the tears too. Hard to understand but I think if I just heard her and not seen here I wouldn’t have had that reaction.
Saw Paul Potts audition at the same venue and he was amazing as well. Most unlikely winners and I am sure Susan will win.
After all, we’ve all loved Pavarotti and assorted other singers. Most of the opera singers are equally as unlikely in their appearance.
OMG, just picked up on this. Best I’ve heard in a long time. Ba-da-boom!
.......They will bring you up and just tear you down....
You forgot one thing...... money.
Compare if you will the austere and spare set for the British program with the glitz and huge audience of American Idol. Many think Idol has peaked meaning a cahs cow is drying up.
The solution for Simon and the producers is to nurse and develop the Brit show. Ms Boyle could very well be the vehicle for that growth. Rather than tearing her down, she will be given unimaginable opportunities. It has made real stars in America and can happen again in the UK.
I watched the face of Simon during her clip. The smiles reflected satisfaction and the realization of success in his endeavor
One more thought..... She will win and appear next year as a guest on Idol. The cross posting will only breed greater success and $$$
(that presumes we will still have an America after a year of Obamanitaion)
That's true, but at first I saw true astonishment, as the sheer power of her singing registered with him. He had a smug, cynical look on his face as she began singing that just transformed into joy after the first few bars.
