John Williams of Shadowstats- Hyperinflationary Depression Ahead
John Williams publishes the Shadow Government Statistics newsletter (www.shadowstats.com).
-- We will see inflation levels "not seen in our lifetime" ...
-- We will see debt explode to $65 trillion (4x U.S. GDP; more than global GDP).
-- We will see hyperinflation such that the dollar becomes worthless and "the paper is worth more as wall paper than as currency"
( Snippet of Interview)
HJR: They couldnt even use the money as toilet paper because it is a bad absorber of water. So we will have hyper-inflation. How can we protect the value of our assets, assuming that people have some discretionary money? Should they buy growth stocks because they are cheap, assuming buy low, sell high? Or are there better alternatives?
JW: We are headed into a hyper-inflationary depression that will become a Great Depression. When hyper inflation hits, it will disrupt the normal flow of commerce and turn it into a Great Depression.

Ping!
Yes, due to the Bank and Wall Street Bailouts and Pork Package we will see high inflation however, we will not see real hyperinflation.
Hyperinflation is conservatively defined as inflation at rates of 50% a year and more realistically as a sustained inflation rate of above 100% per year.

I wanted to see if Linux was affected by that link. My Firefox browser worked just fine. No problems.

Food is showing a strong rate of inflation and has been for 3 years now with most of the profits going to the middleman (processors & distributors).
My instincts are telling me inflation for food will seriously accelerate this summer.
Fertilizer and seed costs are way, way up as a result of last summer's ridiculous oil & natural gas prices compared to 3 years ago. Still, no relaxation in those wholesale prices this planting season.
I personally believe our goobermint is hell bent on more importation of unchecked, cheap, and many times tainted food sources as a means to 'relieve' the taxpayer of more money for goobermint use.
Works fine for me. You better run a scan! Something’s up with your comp...
Thank you, I will check my PC. I just wanted to let others know in case it was a problem with the link.
Food has gone way up in the last few weeks. Paid $9.99 for pure maple syrup, small bottle, formerly paid $6 and would sometimes buy it for $5. Toilet paper, dog food, groceries, hygiene products - anyone else seing this?
