I have seen Van Gogh paintings in real life and they are wonderful. They are different from what was done at the time and he was not accepted by the establishment. Too bad he didn't live to see his later popularity. I never cared for Picasso and the moderns who came after him and abstract leaves me cold.

I didn’t realize he had done so many paintings. Many of them are quite striking. The painting you posted is titled Still Life: Pink Roses in a Vase. It is in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
