They will establish unfair tax burdens on the middle class in order to redistribute wealth to the lower class — specifically to those on welfare programs, poor foreign nations and those people who arrived in this nation illegally.

They will irresponsibly expand the money supply to pay increasing budget shortfalls, causing the dollar to lose much of its value.

Their socialistic polices will create stagflation or hyper-inflation that will effectively wipe out much of the savings of ten's of millions of people.

I agree that we are near hopelessly divided. But since much of these things are already in progress or done, why isn't the secessionist movement father along?
For what you predict there would need to be:
1. some egregious flaunting of the constitution
2. a catastrophic event that changes the fundamental outlook of the majority of the populace where they would put their differences aside for the good of the country.
Possible thoughts for #1 above would be Obambi being ineligible to be president but remains in office or a serious overreach by Congress such as taking everyone’s 401K.
For #2, a serious terrorist attack, much more serious that 911 (nuke or WMD) could renew a belief in America with a new purpose and solidarity.
Based upon the situation today, I just do not see it.

Maybe because so far it has a preponderance of big talkers. They'll need people who are willing to use the words “we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor” or people who have none of that to lose. They may get enough of those people with some sort of catalyst or incident. They'll also need people who know how to actually run things. They may have more trouble with that.

Because we have our Plasmas. That simple. Take away the Plasmas and turn this country into Third World status, you will have revolt...it is assured.
