There are alot more people on here that have alot more senority on Freerepublic. Maybe they will have more to say about this subject that you. Longevity, or "seniority", should have nothing to do with it. Their posting record should say more than enough. Eventually, trolls go away as they lose interest.
Remember the ASH ALERT, anyone?

Remember the ASH ALERT, anyone? I think Ash and various subsequent incarnations must have been banned at least fifty times.

The damned “ash alert” is why my husband hasn’t been on the forum in years. He got tired of explaining that his screenname was just a coincidence. He also got a bit fed up with the rampant anti-Catholicism seen on the forum a few years back, but that’s changed a lot.

Yep, I remember ASH. I even conversed with him offline on one occasion. I think he was shocked that anyone would do that.

Realize, however, that you can't really ban trolls. So getting away with someone who really is conservative but is being misinterpreted or maybe is poping off after having a bad day isn't going to stop trolls. Best to add a 'block' feature so you don't see those people's post.
I have thousands of proxy IP addresses at my disposal and anyone else can use a proxy, too.
