The idea of snack-food tax has been tossed around by the usual suspects i.e food nazis/greenies who will spare no effort in saving Americans from themselves.There should be a tax on vegan/vegetarian foods as they result in people living longer and burdening the Social Security/Medicaid/Medicare systems.
And even if they don't live longer, it's the "feeling" that they do which is most harmful to the environment with their exhaling of greenhouse gases and destruction of green plants that take in CO2 and emit O2.

That's a good point. We simply can't afford to eat one single vegetable while the Earth's climate is in peril.
Be kind to plants. Eat meat. :)
