To my dying day, I will never buy that this amendment was adopted legally, using proper procedure.
It’s been years since I read “The Law that Never Was” but I am convinced that one man, Secretary of State Knox, illegally certified the ratification despite numerous procedural faults and fraudulent misrepresentations.
Now the matter is a Catch 22, since the Executive Branch says it’s a matter for the Judiciary, and the Judiciary points to the Executive Branch.
I would just love to be President, so I could open a full investigation, and when the truth was revealed I could order the complete destruction of all IRS records and immediate dismissal of all employees. Of course, I would be found dead on the floor of the Oval Office before any of this could take place, having “choked on a pretzel.”
Met Bill Benson years ago. Sadly, as with the matter of Zero’s birth certificate, that issue failed to gain much traction.
Now that the populace has been dumbed down to the point where the nation now has a malignant narcissist usurper in the WH — either by election or more likely voter fraud — it appears that our course is set until meaningful resistance forms up.
