I'm in Florida - how high should the corn be?
Oranges used to grow in St. Augustine a hundred years ago (the northern part of Florida) - the "orange" line has been moving south ever since. Now it's slightly below the middle of the state. In spite of Al Gore's idiocy - it seems global cooling has been going on for some time.

Two things, the pipe will be stainless steel insulated chimney, not steel stove pipe so not as ugly. Second, an insulated chimney is much safer and more efficient than a brick and mortar chimney mainly because the inside heats up much faster which prevents creosote buildup.
Same here in CT. I think my tomatoes are not going to pull through—late frost so I planted them later than usual and now it is the April weather continuing through June.
In contrast a teaspoon sized solar panel will produce about 70 milliwatts. Might be enough to charge a cell phone, but you would lose that much heat with a tablespoon-sized area of window.
The Global Temperature trend has been flat/down since 1998ish. But remember the 90's were warm so we've just returning to a cooler "normal" not an Ice Age.
According to what I have read the flip switches quickly when going into an ice age. I haven't seen a rapid dramatic drop/rise in temperature. Could be this year's cooling is due to a less energetic Sun. Now maybe if the Sun remains less energetic for a few years or longer we might get a mini Ice Age. But what's the likelyhood of that?
Personally I may enjoying all the AWG crowd having to eat snow,lol.

Same here in Texas although for opposite reasons, (little rain and hot temps)
It was usually knee high or taller by now here. I saw many fields today that are about 7 inches and some barely 5 inches. I saw a couple with about 10 inches and wondered what kind of corn they were growing as that seemed more normal. Supposedly you can plant corn here from April15th on but many wait until the black locust trees are in bloom. As we drove down to the Chesapeake the Maryland corn looked far worse.
Just to throw in my 2 cents...
At least for the mid to upper midwest, expect next Fall to arrive slightly early and Winter to follow early as well. Expect next Winter to be slightly more intense with extended periods of low temperatures and an increase in snowfall.
As we get into an abbreviated Summer, expect lower than average temperatures with few peaks into the 90’s. The end of July through August will be much dryer but the return of the same weather pattern and westerly air flow will bring back the precipitation for a mostly wet Fall. Expect the potential for flooding once again.
I’ve rarely been incorrect in my long range forecasts for the midwest for the past 25+ years and I don’t use government data or the Old Farmers Almanac. See my previous posts...
