Let's blame it on the silly people who buy the crappy tabloids and celebrity magazines at the grocery checkout(I notice mostly women buying those).
Although I strongly opposed it,my ex-wife rented lots of horror movies for her son saying "he knows it's not real" and allowed him to view them while I was gone to work.I still don't think any good comes of making or viewing movies portraying devil worship,dismemberment,occult terrorism,gruesome murder as entertainment;even more so in that good never fully triumphs.The endings always provide for a sequel.
There seems a huge desire to be "shocked" for entertainment,with no regard for the consequences.
