I was wondering the same thing. He threw like a girl. HAHA. The camera was strategically placed so as to not show the pitch. I would not be surprise if that was a condition Obama had before hand so as to not embarrass him.
As an aside I noticed that when they ran the names of the 30 community all-stars one of them was Darrell Scott. He's the father of Rachael Scott who was killed in the Columbine shooting in 1999. He and wife ex-wife wrote a nice book in tribute to their daughter called Rachael's Tears.

I go back to the Rheingold beer days. I went to Shea at least once in every decade since the befinning. My first game at Shea was against the Cubs. Warren Spahn pitched for the Mets that day. Ron Swoboda was a rookie, and he hit a homer that day. The Mets won that day — a rare occurence!
