Umaru Mutallab's Son Identified as Delta Airline Bomber
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2415319/posts?page=87
Jimbo123 told me he's afraid that this fascinating eyewitness account will soon disappear from the Internet, it's currently located at:
http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2009/12/commenter_says_he_was_aboard_n.html http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2009/12/commenter_says_he_was_aboard_n.html
"I was on this flight today and am thankful to be alive. My wife and I were returning from an African safari and had this connecting flight through Amsterdam. I sat in row 27, which was 7 rows behind the terrorist. I got to see the whole thing take place and it was very scary. Thanks to a few quick acting people I am still alive today.
For those of you talking about airline security in this thread, I was next to the terrorist when he checked in at the Amsterdam airport early on Christmas. My wife and I were playing cards directly in front of the check in counter. This is what I saw (and I relayed this to the FBI when we were held in customs):
An Indian man in a nicely dressed suit around age 50 approached the check in counter with the terrorist and said "This man needs to get on this flight and he has no passport." The two of them were an odd pair as the terrorist is a short, black man that looked like he was very poor and looks around age 17(Although I think he is 23 he doesn't look it). It did not cross my mind that they were terrorists, only that the two looked weird together. The ticket taker said "you can't board without a passport". The Indian man then replied, "He is from Sudan, we do this all the time". I can only take from this to mean that it is difficult to get passports from Sudan and this was some sort of sympathy ploy. The ticket taker then said "You will have to talk to my manager", and sent the two down a hallway. I never saw the Indian man again as he wasn't on the flight. It was also weird that the terrorist never said a word in this exchange. Anyway, somehow, the terrorist still made it onto the plane. I am not sure if it was a bribe or just sympathy from the security manager.
FBI also arrested a different Indian man while we were held in customs after a bomb sniffing dog detected a bomb in his carry on bag and he was searched after we landed. This was later confirmed while we were in customs when an FBI agent said to us "You are being moved to another area because this area is not safe. Read between the lines. Some of you saw what just happened."(The arrest of the other Indian man). I am not sure why this hasn't made it into any news story, but I stood about 15-20 feet away from the other Indian man when he was cuffed and arrested after his search.
What also didn't make the news is that we were held on the plane for 20 minutes AFTER IT LANDED!. A bomb could have gone off then. This wasn't too smart of security to not let us off the plane immediately.
You can see what time I am writing this as I am having a hard time sleeping tonight. Just thought some of you would like to know what I saw, Merry Christmas."
[Things I didn’t know, as I would have felt safe with boiling the water, an odd kinda conspiracy forum, with a few good nuggets...granny]

Boiling bacteria containing water is not a good idea as the dead bacteria release chemicals that can be very bad for you. After boiling the water pass it through some sand and activated charcoal the carbon in the charcoal will trap any contaminates. Just an FYI.
Thanks for the links, interesting case.
Fits in with what I hear on the police scanners, lots more going on than hits the news media reports.

I got an Excalibur dehydrator for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!<<<
A new world has opened its doors to you. LOL, have fun
If you will take the time to learn to use it and do so almost daily, it will save you far more in food than it cost to dehydrate it.
Delawhere is our authority on canning and drying, and you will find information throughout the threads, the first 2 threads are linked on the first page of this thread.
Welcome to the thread, I do hope you will join in, or use the information if you can that is here.
Interesting. After recently finding out that our groundwater/well is contaminated, I think I will be buying this thing, even though it is expensive...
Berkey tabletop water filter<<<<[link in post 5107]
I don’t have personal knowledge of this water filter, I have heard of it and have heard good reports on it.
Let us ask some of those who might use it for there help.
>>>I got an Excalibur dehydrator for Christmas!<<<
GREAT!
A ways back, Granny posted a whole batch of really neat dehydrator recipes/ideas. There is so much you can do with them.
Last week when the snow was piling up, I made a big pot of soup - 100% from dried. Venison, potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, onions, celery, zucchini, peas, mushrooms, corn, even some dried cabbage... It was great! Plus - the wonderful aroma as it simmered all day made the snow seem trivial. :)
>>>I will give it a try, cant this minute, as I have some folders open<<<
I was amazed - I had several tabs that I wanted to keep open but figured that I would just sacrifice them - the Firefox 3.6 came up and even picked up all the tabs and loaded them - way faster than the old one would - without timing out.
The thrill is back! :)
Hmmmm. Please ping me if you hear any news on it.
I will keep you in mind.
Thx Dear Heart and I you and in my prayers.

Dog Biscuits
1/2 c. cornmeal
2 c. whole wheat flour
6 tablespoons oil
2/3 c. water or broth (I used beef broth)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients well. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick. (No flour is necessary on the board or rolling pin.) Cut with cookie cutters. (Used my dog bone cookie cutter!) Bake 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool. Store in airtight container.
And our dogs LOVED it!!!
dog cookies
1c oats
1/3c margerine
1c boiling water
Mix together and let stand for 10 minutes.
3/4c cornmeal
1T sugar
2t bouillon powder (unsalted)
1/2c milk
1c shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg beaten
2t garlic puree
Add these to the oat mixture and stir well.
2-3c whole wheat flour
Add this 1 cup at a time until you have a stiff dough. Sometimes you’ll use the full 3 cups, and sometimes only a little over 2 cups.
Knead this dough a little - roll it out - cut with cookie cutter.
Bake at 325 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
I also use my dog bone cutter. This makes a great gift for dog owners and I bag them up by the dozen for bake table sales and they go like hotcakes.

High school students analyzing food products found in their own kitchens discovered that one-sixth had been mislabeled, according to a DNA study released Monday.
Out of 66 foods tested by Trinity School seniors Brenda Tan and Matthew Cost, 11 had labels listing ingredients that had been replaced, usually with cheaper or less desirable options.
The pair found that a specialty “sheep’s milk” cheese was actually made with cow’s milk, and caviar labeled as “sturgeon” was actually Mississippi paddlefish. Similarly, “venison” dog treats turned out to be made from beef, and a delicacy labeled “dried shark” was actually an inexpensive freshwater fish from Africa, Nile perch.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 18, 2009 Fort Washington, PA In consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., is expanding its voluntary recall to include all available product lots of TYLENOL® Arthritis Pain Caplet 100 count bottles, with the distinctive red EZ-OPEN CAP (Full list of lot numbers provided below). In November 2009, 5 lots of this product were recalled due to consumer reports of an unusual moldy, musty, or mildew-like odor that was associated with nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea. The recall is being expanded, as a precaution, to include all TYLENOL® Arthritis Pain Caplet 100 count bottles with the distinctive red EZ-OPEN CAP.
The uncharacteristic smell is caused by the presence of trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole. The source of 2,4,6-tribromoanisole is believed to be the breakdown of a chemical used to treat wooden pallets that transport and store packaging materials. The health effects of this compound have not been well studied, and to date all of the observed events reported to McNeil were temporary and non-serious.
Consumers who purchased TYLENOL® Arthritis Pain Caplet 100 count bottles with the distinctive red EZ-OPEN CAP from the lots included in this recall should stop using the product and contact McNeil for instructions on a refund or replacement. Consumers who have medical concerns or questions should contact their healthcare provider. Any adverse reactions may also be reported to the FDAs MedWatch Program by fax at 1-800-FDA-0178, by mail at MedWatch, FDA, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20852-9787, or on the MedWatch website at www.fda.gov/medwatch.
