My co-worker found this today, and shared it at work.

I think it was delightful and joyous. How great to have a circle of friends, family who celebrate the joy of the start of a marriage with such exuberance. All I could think of was “make a joyous noise unto the Lord.”

I am Roman Catholic, but have been to a lot of different weddings. I have seen dancing at AME churches...it was wonderful, and happy (and the groom sang at one! Awesome!)

Weddings are celebrations; in my Irish family...wakes are “happy” as well.

I really enjoyed the video...btw...there is (on YouTube) a “History of Dance Wedding Reception” with a couple doing their first dance. Oh wow...the groom is the bomb!!! He is hysterical!

OK Sometimes these threads get so confused nothing makes sense anymore...

The OP presented this as “what all weddings should be” or something like that.

I disagree. I happen to think doing a handstand in the middle of the aisle in church (regardless of the denomination) is just simply...well, nevermind. It just strikes me as being nothing I’d like to see at my wedding.

I’d like my funeral to be like this. Not because everyone would be happy to see me gone but happy that I’d be gone to a better place.

Y’know, Jesus didn’t have problems associating with whores.

Why do you ?

That was great!
I can hardly believe all the bitter, wet blankets who posted to this thread. Sheesh.
It’s embarrassing.

God’s got a sense of humor. The platypus proves this.

I had a Princess Di thing happening at my wedding. Pachelbel’s Canon and Trumpet Voluntary (it was ok...every one was channeling their inner Windsor...) it was a long, long time ago...but Di brought back ‘trains’ on wedding dresses as well.

Jesus associated with whores to get them to change their lives, to become believers in the Lord, and leave their sinful lives.

God’s got a sense of humor.

I know he has a sense of humor. That's why I'm on constant lookout for wayward asteroids.

Well, if this was done for the Lord, fine. But it was not. It was self indulgent. We should take those things serious that are meant to be serious.

Should choirs enter the church service this way? Sure, why not? It would be refreshing to see people enjoying life if they did so. Why not munch on potato chips during the wedding? Potato chips make me happy and it would be refreshing to see me enjoy life.

So, would you do this at your wedding and is this something you would want your daughter to perform at her wedding? Coming down the aisle to trivial music no less.

A couple of months ago I had to learn the main theme from “Star Wars” on the pipes for a wedding. Did you ever have a similar request?

>>>Friday and this is a feel good story.

Not for everybody. Now the rest of the story:

July 25, 2009 —

A NEWLYWED couple from Minnesota became the latest victims in the vicious morning TV booking wars, when ABC had them thrown out of their hotel and canceled their airline tickets to fly home.

Kevin and Jill Heinz were left stranded after they committed the unpardonable crime of appearing on NBC as well as ABC. “We’ve been kicked out of our room,” Kevin told Page Six yesterday from the lobby of the Millennium Hotel. “New York is cut-throat. That’s what we’ve learned.”

The Heinzes became a sought-after “get” for ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today” after the video of their June 20 wedding march — featuring the ushers and bridesmaids doing a funky dance down the aisle — became a sensation on YouTube, with 1.4 million hits.

Producers at “GMA” booked the couple on yesterday’s show, flew them to New York and put them up at the Millennium, but the newlyweds also agreed to pretape an appearance on “Today.”

“We did it by the book,” a “Today” exec told Page Six. “We said, ‘Come in at 6:15 and we’ll have you out by 6:30,’ which is exactly what we did.” But particularly galling to the ABC execs, “Today” aired its Heinz segment before “GMA” put them on air live.

Then, when ABC execs learned that NBC had agreed to fly in the ushers and bridesmaids to reenact their dance with the newlyweds on this morning’s “Today” show, they decided to cancel the couple’s hotel and flights. NBC quickly moved the couple to another hotel and agreed to fly them home tomorrow.

“We figured they’d be happier staying with their whole wedding party on the ‘Today’ show’s tab. It certainly makes us happier,” a “GMA” exec told Page Six.

As for the Heinzes, maybe they picked Chris Brown’s “Forever” as their nuptial dance track because of the lyrics: “We can be two rebels breaking the rules, me and you, you and I.”

My point was that these people were doing it for the express purpose of looking like a music video.

I mean, why else would many (most?) of them be wearing shades in a Church? And to pick a Chris Brown song (who just asaulted his GF) should be beyond insulting to the bride-to-be. SHOULD be are the operative words,

But alas, it is now perfectly okay both in our devolving “culture” and in the Church of Anything Goes.

But then, I'm an old fashioned kinda girl who believes that church is a place of respect, reverence and propriety.

I don't believe that's "old fashioned" at all. When I go in to any place of worship, be it Christian, Buddhist, whatever, I am always respectful, and would never think of doing anything like this.

I have no fear of being "smited" (bc I don't believe God is a vengeful God); I merely believe that is the appropriate way to act.

And reading your Bible grants you the mystic ability to see into the hearts of others ???

Methinks not. So I’ll pass some good advice I read in MY Bible:

Judge not, lest ye yourself be judged. . . .

Of course. God is an Iron.

What do I mean by that ?

What do you call someone that commits a felony ? A Felon.

Thus, what do you call someone that creates irony ??? (grin)

In the final analysis, this. . .
