You should have seen what it did to my beeber!
They must be trying to lose viewer with that strategy.
I am always amazed that websites look to aggravate the very people who come to them. It only takes one time to turn me off permanently.
Haven’t been to newsmax in years.
Yep, me too.
Found this on McAfee site advisor
Their pop up sent me to a site with tried to download the following virues/malware to my system until I close the page.
Trojanmalscript!html
Bloodhound.Exploit.213
Trojan.Fakeavaleart

I understand that's what Barney Frank wants to do....
warning was fake, but no matter how you try to click out of it, it brings up a fake “scanning files” page, so I immediately shut down the network
I got this yesterday, at Amazon, and today at the NY Post site.
Just happened to me and a couple of my friends. We have been going to NewsMax for quite some time, but this weekend all 3 of us got the “fake antivirus” scanner.
Buddies spent $100 to bring computer in and have it fixed. I got lucky and my AVG program finally caught it and cleaned it, but it took me 3 days!
Tech at the local computer shop said it is a fairly typical attack in that it is designed to get your credit card number. Not really malicious in the sense that it will do massive damage to your system, but it obviously makes the system inoperable.
I have finally seen the light and switched to FireFox....NO more IE for me!
