"Nipper," was actually part Bull Terrier and part Fox Terrier click here and the Buster Brown dog sure looks like a pit!

Well, Nipper was RCA’s logo and they say he was a Fox terrier.

The “bully” type terriers descended from the molossers and have similar physical characteristics, although they vary a lot in size. If the Buster Brown dog artwork (great pic - thanks) is proportionately accurate to the boy (Buster), he’s not a Pit. The dog’s head would be as large as Buster’s.
