Great post!

I’ve been waiting all summer for Homer’s threads of the first week of September. This was truly the pivotal moment of the 20th Century.

Today is the Anniversary of one of the most important events in the history of the human race and our fearless leader doesn't even mention it? The man does not disappoint on his level of stupidity.

Hell, this is WAY above Zero's paygrade, otherwise he would understand why he and his deputy fuhrers czars are being compared to the Nazis.

I would like to see if we could find an audio broadcast of H. V. Kaltenborn from this date. He was the premier radio broadcaster of the day. Murrow began to shine during the Blitz.

Indeed. You can just feel the history of listeners all over Europe clustered around their radios. In the day, radio was state-of-the-art communications.

It has to make one wonder what the pit in the average Brit’s stomach felt like at that moment knowing that Chamberlain’s “Peace in Our Time” didn’t work out as planned, for Great Britain, anyway.

The average Brit, Frenchman, and German stomachs, were all churning. The Germans had no public enthusiasm for this war as shown by the article contrasting this war with 1914. Too many fresh memories of the last war. Too many maimed fathers and dead older brothers.

They knew what they were getting into. The problem was for the French that they had a government that reflected their fears and worries. The Germans...not so much.

The Germans had no public enthusiasm for this war as shown by the article contrasting this war with 1914. Too many fresh memories of the last war. Too many maimed fathers and dead older brothers.

And yet a minority of Nazi socialist extremists were able to pull this off with growing support from the populace through pure propaganda and control of free speech, commerce and education, among other things. Sounds con temporarily familiar.
