Controlling speed by blind remote control is a really, really bad idea. An awful idea. And I don’t get the volume control feature. The seat belt thing is pretty good though.

I like the idea of RFID and a remote kill switch. When they no longer live under my roof they are entitled to said freedoms that other independent adults enjoy.

Its Big Brother if government controlled it instead of parents

Depends on the kid.

Here, the Mommy Network is pretty effective.

I’m just glad I was a teenager before GPS. I can see my dad calling me on a cell phone: “Son, whatcha doing at the cabin?” Nothing, dad. And there’s not a girl with me either.”

If it is an option it is good.

Just a simple change of programming controlled by the transponder chip program in a chosen key.

When Government controls or reqires it, then it Big Bro.

Think of the loss of revenue for speed trap towns.

Were I your father, that line wouldn't put me at ease.

I want one that disables any cell phone use while the car is running. I don’t have kids though, I just have a wife.

I have a version of this on my vehicles. Used it to fight tickets an win in court. Keeps a 30 day record of speed,acceleration,date/time etc.

Pisses off LEO’s bad . Traffic court judges just grin an dismiss. Only had to use it once in past 10 years as I don’t speed.

“I’m just glad I was a teenager before GPS”

Wouldn’t have worked with me anyway!

I went to work at14 to buy and build a fast 40 Ford coupe hot rod and had it sitting at the curb finished , ready to go and insurance paid for by me on my 16th birthday.

They had no control over my use of my street racing machine!

Not while it is operating....

useful for when she/he is someplace they are not supposed to be. OTOH, if the car is on the train tracks it can be a good time to negotiate some extra yard work or house keeping.

63 Chevy pickup with a three on the tree. Started out with a straight six, but when that went down we put a 327 from a wrecked Camaro in it. Hang down A/C. Bench seat, and I taught my girl how to shift so I could drive with my arm around her. She used to kick off her sandals and knock the condensation tube off the A/C so the cold water would run on her feet. Eight track tape player. Some of the music:

Crocodile Rock.

American Pie.

If you've got the money.

Promised Land--Elvis

Promised Land--Chuck Berry

Rockin Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu

Gimme Three Steps"

In our day it was the driver’s ed teacher who slammed on the brake in the middle of the intersection with a car coming our way. My husband (no we weren’t married then) told him if he ever did that again he was going to beat the crap out of him.
