In water since 1911, Coney Island bell retrieved

When I worked at a sewage treatment plant in Illinois for a summer while I was in college, that was termed a "floater." Plastic tampon applicators were "torpedoes." And using a rake to clean the accumulated old-fashioned tampons from the grates was the least desirable job in the place.

Ah, memories.

When I think of Coney Island, I think of Nathan's Famous and Brighton Beach/ "Little Odessa" .
