Why doesn't the Tampa Tribune publish news about the telethon? There is nothing about the local station collecting money. Local station used to show the whole telethon but it seems everything has changed. My family misses that and I'm sure a lot of other folks do too.

It's because Jerry Lewis' doctors told him that when he sings 'You'll Never Walk Alone' that there is a risk that a blood clot could dislodge itself from the femoral capillary, travel through the network of arteries, and cause a fatal stroke within 30 seconds. FCC regulations will not permit any television or radio station to broadcast a live event which includes the risk of a human death on camera or microphone. Lewis can't even get event insurance anymore due to the high cost of the premiums which would run 96 percent of the payout anyway.
A tragic situation, truly.
