The tolerant lefties and folkie Bolsheviks in the folkie community attacked Dylan when he went electric. I think he even got death threats. Such tolerance. I was never a huge Dylan fan but he was very cool when the cops asked him for ID in NJ recently when he was wandering around before a show. The cops were too young to know who he was. He never made a fuss and just walked with them to the tour bus to get his wallet and ID.
