Got to see him in Elizabethtown, KY last year. A friend is in Frankfort, KY tonight to see him. An amazing man!
Wonderful, just listened and watched Tommy’s magical guitar, and now I’m listening to Iz’s version in voice and ukele.
I enjoy Iz’s voice, but the scrambled up lyrics make me nuts.
Yeah, I understand, but I like the Iz version. Many thousands of moons ago when I did play guitar and was “on”, I could scramble songs and rythms like crazy, but it all hung together.
Tommy is quite amazig. Its not just the guitar, but the energy which invests the environment from the musical expression itself.
All great peformers can do it, a kind of ordinary magic. Iz also could do that, in a very primeval way, with a great deal of earthy energy. Tommy is more heaven energy, his music draws one up, into the clouds. Iz made lightning bolts come up from the ground right through your heart.
I admire both of these performers.
Few know about IZ, he had 100.000 people at his wake in the capitol in Hawaii. I wish he still were here in body. He was a great, great man, all politics aside.
