“The high cost and finicky components of Macs got to be a hassle for my biz. “

Yep. Can’t even load a ringtone to an iPhone without extreme hassles or paying Apple more money. Blackberry loads ringtones, any ringtone or mp3 or sound file, with a single click.

My trusty HP41CX is now 26 or so years old. It sits on my desk as it has for all this time and always works. I have a cache of them from an office I closed down 22 years ago. Guess I am a Luddite.

You sure know how to hurt a man ... My trusty 41CX got lost in a move as did my trusty 41CV. Wonderful machines and better than my 48G in many respects.

A cache of them, you say?

Not at all true.

Here ya go: 1001 Ringtones Lite app.

There are many more Ringtone apps.

This one is free, and contrary to the name, it only gives you 250 ringtones. However, if you can bear giving Apple 30¢, you can download the non-lite version for 99¢, which DOES have the full 1001 ringtones.

I think many, MANY people go to MAC due to snob appeal. Not all, mind you but plenty of them. I know about the virus problem or lack thereof with the MAC but s a 20 year PC user I have not had a problem since the introduction of the virus control software which most cable companies supply free of charge.

I have had no issues with lock ups perhaps a dozen times in 20 years) and frankly think while Apple makes a fine product, it doesn’t warrant the cost difference.
