NAACP and La Raza Rip Obama Over Historic Job Losses

This is weird.

The NAACP and La Raza slammed Obama today over his historic unemployment rates. And, The New York Times reported the story. Weird.

With unemployment among blacks at more than 15 percent, the N.A.A.C.P. will join several other groups on Tuesday to call on President Obama to do more to create jobs.

The organizations — including the A.F.L.-C.I.O. and the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group— will make clear that they believe the president’s $787 billion stimulus program has not gone far enough to fight unemployment.

They will call for increased spending for schools and roads, billions of dollars in fiscal relief to state and local governments to forestall more layoffs and a direct government jobs program, “especially in distressed communities facing severe unemployment.”

Baraq has done an especially fine job of increasing black teen unemployment. I believe it has nearly doubled on his watch.
It’s important to get them dependent on the fedgov early.
Don’t want to take a chance they might learn to make a living on their own.

This is just a clarion call for more money for black and Hispanic union workers in the public sector. Meanwhile, black and latino teens who can't find jobs or if they work in the private sector are screwed.

So these groups are complaining that Obama has not created any jobs by throwing money at the problem so their answer is for him to throw MORE money at the problem...

See definition of insanity...

Let’s see...they could barely hide their giddyness when he was elected. Unfortunately, their chickens are coming home to roost!
None of that Obama money left...

They don’t get it. You can’t give the money to your political cronies and still have it to spend on roads and bridges. Did they actually think he was really going to do that stuff?

Typical socialists. The government doesn't create jobs. The private sector does. Fools.

Its been my experience that most black teens simply don’t want to work. If they had any interest to good paying jobs, albeit physical ones like carpenters, electricians , plumbers wouldn’t be taken up by illegal aliens. Homey just isn’t into getting up at 5:30 or 6 in the morning.

Only cuts in taxes and regulations will restart job growth. And the NAACP probably is calling for more regulations and taxes.

They are sitting on the stimulus money, and want another stimulus.

It will be raining money in time for the 2010 elections.

Bingo. It's also not the gov't's job to micro-manage the economy. They are supposed to create the environment in which the private sector can flourish.

A day late and a dollar short. This has been going on for a long, long time. Obama has made things worse, yet nary a word from the Black or Hispanic caucuses. The black unemployment rate for October is 15.7% and the Hispanic rate is 13.1%.

When you have out of wedlock birthrates for blacks at 68% and Hispanics at 50% combined with school drop out rates around 50% for both groups, this is the social pathology for failure in our society. We are creating a permanent underclass that will demand more and more government services. By 2023 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities as defined by the US Government.

Why is it that no spending can be mentioned without talking about increased spending for schools.

We spend more now for schools than any other nation and get less for it.

What we need in schools is more discipline , more studies and less people who don't want to learn.

When you have a discipline problem get rid of it. Toss them out. stop playing with kids who interrupt the program and teach those who want to learn.

Not to worry. We are bringing in now 125,000 LEGAL FOREIGN WORKERS A MONTH to do some of those jobs, which are disappearing.

There has been a noticeable decrease in the number of latino day laborers in the South Bay.

I'd bet large numbers of them have self-deported - no wonder La Raza is p*ssed.

LBJ’s Great Society worked great didn’t it?
Destroyed the black family structure in a mere two generations.

Obama could position himself as a centrist if he would tell those losers to get lost. It would be the mother of all Sister Souljah moments.
