Posting to FR is a fine way to try to find an answer, we are a community, after all.
I have posted questions about woodworking, computers, auto repair, and gotten expert advice each time. There are some really, really talented people here.
Over the years, I can’t think of a topic that hasn’t come up a time or two. And the chat section specifically has topics for computers and hobbies.
So... post away!!
For some problems, yes. I was referring to this problem.
This kind of tech support issue requires further investigation, because there isn't a single potential cause. And in my experience, the kind of questions I'd have to ask aren't answerable by the typical user.
I'd have to either look at the user's computer directly, or use some sort of remote assistance tool to examine it. Trying to diagnose it on a public forum with various people offering suggestions that may be irrelevant would just frustrate all parties.
