Only because I saw it recently: “It Runs in the Family,” the misbegotten sequel to “A Christmas Story.” Ludicrous.

Who was cast in that one? I've seen a related TV movie titled The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters, which came from another chapter of the same book that yielded "A Christmas Story". It wasn't bad, considering an obviously thin budget.

It was a sequel to a movie about childhood that was done 11 years before, so naturally none of the children could reprise their roles. They had a couple of Culkin kids cast as Ralphie and Randy. Ugh. Darren McGavin, who pretty much carried the original, was too old to play the Old Man. The only actor who reprised his/her role was the woman who played the schoolteacher. The script was horrible. (The Bumpuses were a lot better in the original when they were invisible.)
