Saturday Night Live with Charles Barkley as guest host: Bore Alert!

Posted on 01/09/2010 10:05:37 PM PST by Mountain Mary

Am I the only one who thinks that Saturday Night Live has become a very unfunny show? Charles Barkley is reading his script in a monotone voice and even the audience is having trouble applauding. The opening monolog was stupid too. Don't they try to get good writers anymore? Lorne must be cringing...

Haven't seen one skit to laugh at yet. Why am I wasting time watching it? Where is that remote...

Of course it’s boring.
They’re too biased and cowardly to rip Obama to shreds.
The skit was LAME -— notice they just *had* to use a Petraeus character?

I tape it now so that I can cruise through the boring parts. Takes me about 20 minutes to watch the whole 90 minute show.

The skits are too long and lose their humor long before they are over.

I remember a commercial with Barkley back in the 20th Century.

He was monotone and unintelligible. As I recall, he was never hired to do another commercial. Maybe I’m wrong about that, but I remember its being mentioned somewhere or other.

Of course they made fun of Gov. Paterson’s blindness again. No idea why anyone would think that’s funny. Also noticed there were no Harry Reid jokes-—but still harping on Cheney....go figure.

NBC has been in severe overhype over this episode tonight and Barkley being on it. It is an EPIC FAIL. So bad.

It was terrible - the only funny skit was the one making fun of Barkley - the “sexy” but gross female that turned off all the other guys but Barkley was still interested. The rest of the show was awful

I believe it was Barkley, while either visiting or a temporary inmate in the Maricopa County, AZ jail, remarked on-camera that Sheriff Joe Arpaio could kiss his azz.

Another moron who earned a fortune playing with his balls.

Let’s face it, in spite of some very, very clever bits in the past (the Church Lady comes to mind) and currently, at least 80% of SNL was crap.

They haven’t been funny since Eddie Murphy left IMHO.

And Eddy Murphy hasn't been funny since he left, either.
