When Challenger happened, I was on my second day on the job in the industry after wanting to be in it for 25 years, starting with wanting to be an astronaut in the 60’s.
Oh, man. That must have been sad.
BBL. It is supper time. Spaghetti.
It just “looked” like it was coming down from here.......It had to have been going North some.......Yes, obviously an optical illusion. Sorry if I scared you.
It was a very awesome sight! So glad I could see it.
If I could sse it from the West coast, just imagine how it lit up the sky on the East coast.
Have seen a launch on the East coast in Edgewood, north of the Cape.....at sunrise......Talk about AWESOME!!! Could FEEL it, too.
Glad you saw it! I was freaking out when the solids ignited, because it seemed like it wasn’t lifting off as soon as it was supposed to.
Does the spaghetti sauce have chicken in it?
Yes, Challenger really shook me up. I had been through orientation the day before and this was the first day I was actually sitting at my desk for the first time. On my way into work, I had been wondering if they were going to go that day and was concerned about the reports of ice buildup I had been hearing about. As I sat at my desk with my first assignment (reading some requirements), my new boss (a great Christian man, BTW) walked into the area and said, “Did you guys hear that? The shuttle just blew up during launch.”
Yes that was an illusion due to the arc in the trajectory.
Love you.
Tee hee. Have to leave early. snow on streets.
Fortunately reason prevailed before I made such a foolish gesture. Of course, people smarter were already thinking of such things and checking out all possible avenues. I didn't want to become known as the crackpot from North AL who had psychic dreams.
Be careful out there.
If you saw it, I wonder if Guennie and Mike saw it, too. I have yet to see, in the flesh, a rocket launch.
I’m sure Guenie’s house shook. She’s very close.
If Mike was up and watching for it, he could see it.
Keep in mind that the launch was at 4:15 AM EST......Not many of us are up and movin’ at that time.
WHAT???!!! THERE ARE SLUGABED? The day is HALF-GONE at that hour. Up and at 'em!
Cape Canaveral
Deepest condolensces on the death of your mom kassie. She rests now in the Everlasting Arms.
Neets, thanks for the update
Good morning, Prairie. I hope you day goes well for you. Mine was good. The week is off to a good start.
Good night.
On the Threshold
I’m returning, not departing;
My steps are homeward bound,
I quit the land of strangers
For a home on native ground.
I am rising and not setting;
This is not night but day,
Not in darkness, but in sunshine,
Like a star, I fade away.
All is well with me for ever;
I do not fear to go,
My tide is but beginning
Its bright eternal flow.
I am leaving only shadows
For the true and fair and good,
I must not, cannot, linger;
I would not, though I could.
This is not death’s dark portal,
‘Tis life’s golden gate to me,
Link after link is broken,
And I at last am free.
I am going to the angels,
I am going to my God;
I know the hand that beckons,
I see the holy road.
Why grieve me with your weeping?
Your tears are all in vain,
An hour’s farewell, beloved,
And we shall meet again.
Jesus, Thou wilt receive me
And welcome me above;
This sunshine which now fills me
Is Thine own smile of love.
Good Morning. 8-10 inches of snow predicted for today.
