Started out with a yellow glow, turned white, separated,.....and then it looked like it was coming down.

I think that was some sort of optical illusion or camera angle. I don't much care for nighttime launches because it's too dark to see lots of things that you can see in a daytime launch.
I know it's pretty if you are there at night, though.
