My Gosh!! What a horrid story. Were you unable to get up? It’s lucky you had your cell phone. I know I should carry mind all the time for the exact reason you needed yours.... but I often leave it laying here on my desk.

Apparently you don’t have any Ibprophen on hand?

I will pray that you are only ‘shaken up’ and will soon be back on top of your game.

I probably could have gotten up. But I knew immediately it was a serious back injury and so I didn’t try to move at all. I just lay there screaming. As soon as I could stop screaming at all, I called the medics, and yes, mine almost was on my desk but at the last minute before leaving the office I put it in my pocket. I was panting as I talked. My maid was there although she was literally no help and a bit of a hindrance. But I wasn’t alone and I did tell the maid enough to get her to open the gate and the front door.

First nurse on the scene lives just around the block and she brought her husband. I was concious and so I told them where the cold pack and towel to prop the head up was. I had very good care. The doc was there almost immediately with her husband. They got the school on the phone and hubby came right away with a car and a backboard from our med clinic.

Those folks stabilized me and carried me into the car where I laid on the board across the tops of the seat.

More ... I was interrupted by concerned folks and phone calls.

It was a 45 minute ride down a bumpy mountain road and a curvy road next to the lake. I got into the ER immediately and I was seeen by a very friendly doctor.

I was quickly taken into raddiology and things were analyzed immediately.

The lower part of my spine is crooked.

But no fracture. Bent but not broken.

So, bed rest and pain meds. I’m back on my own bed with my own internet and where I can go to my own bathroom w/o worry of interruption.

I’ll get better.

But, boy does it hurt.

I took pictures of the ER and the trip to radiology and some of the radiology room. It does not compare to the US.

Total price for the whole thing: maybe $55.
