Thank you, nutmeg, for piecing this together. Archiving it here.

Nutmeg:

DC Tea Party protestors may have been “set up” last Sunday

My husband (FReeper zelig) and I put the e-mail below together and sent it out late last night to Rush, Hannity, O’Reilly, and our local conservative talk radio host Jim Vicevich. I realize our words don’t “prove” anything, but it gives food for thought, IMO.

No real response yet, although Jim Vicevich spoke about this briefly this morning. (RaceBannon: Jim said you warned him about this type of thing for years!)

Here’s the e-mail (with a few explanations in parenthesis):

Rahm Emanuel said in a recent interview with Katie Couric that come July and August the Tea Party may expect a “surprise”. Perhaps Emanuel got a head start on his “surprise” on Saturday, March 20 in Washington DC?

Also, David Axelrod recently said “a day of reckoning is coming soon for the Tea Party”.

Emanuel was one of the first to scream about the alleged “racial slur/spitting incident” on Saturday by Tea Partiers. (Although no video proving this incident actually took place has surfaced so far). Add the fact that there were other protests and groups in Washington this weekend: ANSWER, SEIU, other unions that organized the huge immigration rally on Sunday, and pro-healthcare reform activists. I suspect Organizing for America and MoveOn.org was there as well.

Capitol police told my husband that they had spotted a few “professional agitators” in the Tea Party crowd who were known to infiltrate and incite at various protests. We can’t help but wonder if maybe the alleged racial slurs and other alleged despicable acts were manufactured and/or orchestrated. The speed at which this claimed occurrence made its way to into the Congressional record via Diane Watson (D-CA). and John Garamendi (D-CA) a few hours later on Saturday night also raises suspicion. (My husband and I saw the discussion between Watson and Garamendi live on C-SPAN on Saturday night, where Garamendi apologized to his House colleagues for the Tea Partiers’ “brutish” behavior - unreal.)

We participated in all of the Tea Party rallies in Washington DC this past weekend (Saturday at noon, Saturday night and all day Sunday). There were many families involved and people were passionate about the impending government takeover of our healthcare system. We heard no profanity of any kind, and certainly heard no racial slurs. These people are from the heart of America – and recited the Lord’s Prayer on the steps of the Capitol on Saturday night.

What we did notice is that most Tea Partiers are novices at this protesting thing, and are not familiar with the tactics of infiltration. The Tea Party organizations are relatively leaderless and ill-suited to identify and respond to Chicago-style and union thug instigation techniques.

This could be like the lamb being led to the slaughter, to be continued on Thursday in Iowa. (There are tea parties planned to “greet” Obama when he starts his HC reform “victory tour” in Iowa on Thursday)

Tea Partiers had better take heed, and the media need to be forewarned and not rush to false conclusions.

Thanks, Arthur. Just reporting things as they were “on the scene” last weekend in DC.
