Jamie Foxx should have squelched every one of those song choices so far. Doesn’t HE recognize the need for some sizzle out of these guys? WHY did he let them go out with such humdrum choices?

Either he didn't want to (or couldn't) tell them they picked awful songs. Or he just doesn't know as much about music as he thinks he does.
I'm guessing a little of both.
