William Ayres letter to U.W.
Wyoming Trib ^ | April 7, 2010 | William Ayers

Posted on 04/07/2010 6:24:05 AM PDT by wyokostur

On March 30, 2010, officials at the University of Wyoming, citing "security threats" and "controversy," canceled two talks I was invited to give in early April, one a public lecture entitled "Trudge Toward Freedom: Moral Commitment and Ethical Action," and the other, a talk to faculty and graduate students called "Teaching and Research in the Public Interest: Solidarity and Identity." I'd been invited in August, 2009, but one week before I was to travel to Laramie, I was told I had been "disinvited."

Wow! While reading this, it’s important to remember that Ayers is a terrorist. Saying the things he says in here, while never repenting of his desire to blow people up, is particularly disgusting!

Doesn’t matter how it’s spelled. It still spells terrorist.

On March 28 an administrator wrote to tell me that the University was receiving vicious e-mails and threatening letters, as well as promises of physical disruption were I to show up. This is becoming drearily familiar to me, as I'll explain.

I'm sure he feels the same way about the treatment conservatives get on virtually every campus in the country. Ayers is a piece of human garbage.

This happens all the time to Conservative speakers (Coulter and Rove come to recent mind). Just a big “WAAAHHH” to you, Billy boy. No one ever accused Ayers of growing up and being a man.

“I thought that Wyoming law enforcement could get me to the podium”

The ones you didn’t have the chance to blow up because your bomb making skills are severely lacking?

Wyoming Tribune sure gave this self-professed terrorist plenty of space. As such, he should not be allowed anywhere near kids, of any age.

We should not allow ourselves to collapse in fear if a small mob gathers with torches at the gates. I wouldn't force myself on the University, of course, but I felt that canceling would be terribly unfair to the faculty and students who had invited me, and would send a big message that bullying works.

Ah, hah, Bill, but wasn't that exactly your tactic -- a small bullying mob (with the exception that your mob was armed with explosives, as your opponents are not) at the gates? What's not to love, Bill, except that now the opposition is aimed in your direction?

“This is surely in play today: the right to talk to whomever you please, the right to read and wonder, the right to pursue an argument into uncharted spaces, the right to challenge the state or the church and its orthodoxy in the public square. The right to think at all.”

The right to cancel a speech from a P.O.S., aging, filthy, hippy terrorist! Boo-freaking-hoo.

So the lesson here kids, is that if you engage in "symbolic attacks" (read bombings) on monuments and institutions you might not be welcome in polite society later in life. Your next assignment is a 500 word essay on who to blame if history judges you harshly for your past crimes. You can title it, 'Pay Now Or Pay Later'.

After the fact, the terrorist liar reveals what he “would” have said — maybe, maybe not. He’s a waste of time and space either way.

I was one of those residents objecting strenuously to inviting this domestic terrorist to our university. He certainly tries to play down what actually happened and his statement on 9/11 that he wished he had done more...while standing on our flag. Obviously he still thinks that what he wants is more important than anything else.
It is a real irony that he objects to strenuously to the rest of us protesting what we think is wrong.
Even more ironic is the fact that 700 of our National guard troops were returning from duty overseas as this was taking place. Our state has had one of the highest per capita losses in the war against terrorism.

The idea that there is something wrong with being ANGRY is totally bizarre!

This country was FOUNDED on the principal of people being so EXPLETIVE DELETED ANGRY that they were willing to go against multi-generational subservience to a permanent ruling class (the king and his "nobles") and WAGE WAR ON THEM!

The current permanent ruling class (Ayers and his dictatorship) is about to find out what the f'in British found out. And it only started with a Tea Party!

The commies think they invented the only winning strategy. Ayers is about to really feel what free people can, and will do when threatened with SLAVERY. (November...)
