Am I a citizen?

With all the to do about the new law down in Arizona, it got me thinking about how often I have to show some form of identification in the course of my everyday life.

The big objection from the left is that you can be stopped and asked for "your papers"(nazi reference?). Well, let me list a few of the things I have to show "my papers" for:

Boarding an airplane (at least twice before you can board!)
Stopped for a traffic violation
To get my senior discount (ha)
To buy beer in a store (even though I'm 66 years old!)
To get my blood drawn (this is new)
Applying for a passport
Applying for a job (I don't do that anymore!)

I could go on, but I'm sure you folks can come up with a long list.

Have at it.

The federal government really does not want to see your identification papers. It only wants to see your credit card.

The other day I bought a can of spray paint, and the cash register needed to know if i was “of age”. (Cashier didn’t ask for my license, but could have.)

Use the old “It’s settled law” argument against the libs!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiibel_v._Sixth_Judicial_District_Court_of_Nevada

This 2004 ruling upheld that the cops have the right to ascertain identification.
