Just tell them how many miles you drove last year. Next year do the same thing. Guessing will only hurt you. What if you decided to make a couple trips to Alaska at the last minute? What if you tell them 24,000 miles and then all of you find jobs and it drops suddenly to 5,000 miles again?

I’m in Texas and I’ve had auto insurance here for about 50 years. I’ve never been asked to disclose how many miles I drive per year.

Guess if they WOULD ask, perhaps my rates would be lower. I bought a new 2001 auto 9 years ago and it hasn’t reached 15,000 yet!! That’s only about 1700 miles a year! lol

I used to be asked this every year when I said I drove less than $10,000 mile a year. I got a cheaper rate and I guess that was for their records to see if I lied.

We all have clean records so that is a non-issue. Miles racked up due to all of us looking for jobs. And yes, the mileage could change the following year.

My sister who lives in UT said they also receive these but her agent takes care of it so they have cheaper premiums. They drive a lot due to his job.

Ditto that...

That’s part of the application process here in MO.
