Is Big 12 breakup a federal case?

The Kansans fear that a Big Red departure from the Big 12 could spell the league's doom and leave their beloved Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas State Wildcats shivering in the cold without a major conference to call home.

If that happens, at least two lawmakers — one from Kansas, the other from Iowa — suggested that congressional action is possible.

On Tuesday, Sen. Pat Roberts, Wildcat Republican, buttonholed Sen. Ben Nelson, Husker Democrat,

It wasn’t when the Big 12 broke up the Southwest Conference.

Nebraska appears to be solidly in the Big Ten.

Every indication out there appears to see Ntre Ame in the Big Ten as well. We’ll see if that pans out.

That would mean they are going for at least 1 one more to give them even divisions. That means (I think) either Missouri, Maryland or Rutgers. If I were to have my druthers (and obviously I don’t), I’d take Maryland immediately, but when looking at it from a Big Ten perspective, they’ll take Missouri before the other two.

Then it comes down to whether they want a 16 team conference. At that point it’s up to Texas - if they want in, the Big Ten will accept them (and their little dog aTm too) and it will be over. If not, bye bye Big East, because that would almost certainly mean Syracuse/Pitt and Maryland/Rutgers or some combination thereof.

I don’t have the CFB pinglist anymore, but that’s my take.

I hope not. They play in one of the top 2 conferences now. Big ten has been vastly over rated for years. Plus they and the PAC have stood in the way of a championship game so i assume this is to further put that off.

Fat chance, they only act this quickly on phoney issues. If it’s real, they run for the hills. The most useless, least capable, least talented and least employable wastrals in the world: the U.S. Congress.

Mainly because if the 4-16 team mega conference thing happens, Ntre Ame will get shut out of the BCS.

They really should change their name now. They have been “The Big Eleven” for a while now. ( They still will not be able to compete with the SEC.

Missouri can’t compete athletically or recruitment wise in the Big 10..

Remember though, it’s not Swarbrick who will be making the decision, but the head Father of the institution.

They are overrated and will wither. It has been happening for the last 20 years.

As I've learned since moving to Texas, they THINK they play in the ONE best conference. Taint so, but Big12ers sure believe it. ;-)
