Lots of us were here in ‘97 but didn’t realize how fragile our identities were. I lost mine when I tried to change my password after compuserve stole my cs ID and gave it to someone else with an earlier CS sign-up, and I couldn’t retrieve the message Jim sent to the CS email.
Now someone else is using my original FR handle, but with a much later sign-up date.
Lots of the summer ‘97 crowd bailed out when ‘banning fever’ struck some time in ‘99.
SIGH!!! Well, at least we have the memories. ;-)
I especially loved it when anyone left the large font size open.
