If it was a DUI conviction, it is not a crime, it is a violation. MV records are not public records. If an employer wants your driving record, they will ask for you to sign a release. Court records are public records and no release is needed.

It is a crime. They don't take you off in handcuffs for violation of the motor vehicle codes.
