Soccer is a fine game to watch at its highest levels - Premiere League, Serie A, La Liga, World Cup, often the UEFA Champion's Cup. Below that, it can be unwatchable. MLS is barely watchable. Enjoy the game, but soccer will be America's sixth-favorite sport at best.
I never liked MLS. Even when they had the best players the game was just boring.
Agreed. I’m not a big sports fan- but if I’m out for a drink and the TV behind the bar is showing a soccer game, I’ll idly watch it. Given the choice between that and baseball- I’ll take baseball.
If there’s a superbike event on though- that’s better still. :-)
American sports purists turn up their noses at Soccer because it is usually low scoring....therefore....boring.
Yet, after the Cubs beat the Whitesox 1-0 last night, after both pitchers took no-hitters into the seventh inning, I believe....I was one of the greatest games that they had ever witnessed.
Soccer is okay. I don’t follow it every day or year, for that matter. But, with American sports purists, it’s just a double standard.
***Why does EVERYTHING have to be politicized?***
To grab the attention of folks who have more interest in regional sports than more serious ISSUES.
Another tactic to divide & agitate.
Africans, Hispanics & Europeans love soccer - don’t know how that’s being strategized to cause dissent here in the USA - but it will.
