Soccer was invented by French women to give them something to do while their husbands cooked dinner. (/Hank Hill>
It's boring because it's grown men kicking a ball back & forth with very few shots on goal. Exciting & riveting it's not. IMHO.
I will admit that today there are relatively few players that are as exciting to watch, maybe with the exception of Messi and Ronaldo, as in the past.
The game today is much more defensive-oriented.
As the wife of a former professional soccer player, I can assure you there’s nothing gay about it.
Wait, I have to warm up my vuvuzela.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
OK, let’s rock.

If I had to say though, I can easily see this game ending 0-0.
Soccer has moments where it can be exciting, downfield rushes mainly or plays in front of the goal. But when it settles into passing back and forth around midfield, it’s just painful to watch. I saw bits of a lot of the WC games in 2006 and when there’s a flow to it and the teams are surging back and forth, you can get into it. From what I’ve seen of these games so far, for whatever reason, that’s not happening this year. The games themselves are boring, and being played to the soundtrack of thousands of buzzing vuvuzelas just makes it worse.

Not unusual for the Group Stage. Teams are more cautious, more willing to play for ties, and teams still getting used to playing together.
My co-workers are all shocked that I’m showing any interest in the World Cup. I told them that if America was playing in the World Tiddlywinks Competition, I’d be glued to the set screaming “USA! USA!” at every good flip.
Very shaky start by the US, I must say.
SLO 1 - 0 USA
We’re in deep doo-doo now, 1-0 Slovenia.
It just wouldn’t be the US without giving up an early goal.
Unfortunately, you are correct. They need to get this game turned around.
75 minutes left. We can pull it out if they get off their flat feet. Looks like they all have hangovers or something.
Between the way Serbia and Slovenia are playing, makes you wonder how a united Yugoslav team would do.
There you go, it took them 13 minutes....
Slovenia is playing a much better possession game so far.
Dang...goal keeper didn’t even flinch...
as for the haters...YOU try running non-stop for 45 minutes...
A tie would look pretty good right now.
It looked like Howard got caught in no-man’s-land on that shot...
(Besides, in a soccer match, go with the keeper named Handanovic ;)
