My father and his cousin worked for Hoover. They knew first hand that he was not a saint, but neither believed the sex rumors.

Let me put in a rare good word for the man. He built one of the finest law enforcement agencies in history. All those rescued kidnapped kids over the years, and all the other crimes that where prevented and stopped, mean a hell of a lot more than what Hoover might have done in his private life, even if he had been homosexual.
